Eye to Eye

Greenland has been widely represented by foreign photographers by showing icebergs, sled dogs and hunting scenes, from an exoticized point of view that attracts the Western eye. This exhibition seeks to confront this colonial gaze, contemplating how Greenlandic people see the rest of the world, and how they see themselves. By showcasing historic photobooks together with zines from up-and-coming Greenlandic photographers, curator and artist Inuuteq Storch presents us with a new vision of his home country. He will contrast this presentation with some of the visual highlights on Greenland, as seen from the foreign eyes.
